D K Hair Dresser

Up in Sector 5 of Pratap Nagar, things are a bit quieter than the main city. D K Hair Dresser has been sitting here for a good amount of time. I usually open up the shutters around nine in the morning. It’s just me and a couple of chairs. The floor is tiled, and I try to keep it swept between customers. Most people who live nearby stop in when they need a trim. It isn't a place for anything too complicated. Just standard haircuts. I have a radio that plays old songs in the background. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to sit and chat for a few minutes even if they don’t need a haircut. The mirrors are a bit spotted at the edges. It’s a practical shop. I don’t spend money on fancy decorations. People know what to expect when they walk into Sector 5. The water is sometimes a bit cold in winter, but that is how it goes. I’ve lived in Jaipur my whole life and this shop is my main thing. Some days are slow, especially when it’s too hot outside. Other days, I don’t even have time to eat lunch. It’s just a normal way to earn a living. Nothing special about it, just a local hair dresser. We stay open until the sun goes down and then I head home. It is a steady life and I like the people who visit.
