If you’re driving down Data Ramgarh Road or Chomu Road, you might see my place. D K Bullocks is what it says on the front. It’s a bit of a dusty spot because of all the trucks and tractors moving through this part of Chomu. We deal with things related to the local trade and transport. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning. Usually, the doors are wide open and there’s a lot of shouting back and forth with the drivers. I’ve been here for quite some time now. The road has changed a lot, getting wider and busier every year. My day starts when the first vehicles start moving. We don't have a lot of furniture, just some wooden chairs and a desk that’s seen better days. There’s always a teapot going somewhere nearby. It’s the kind of business where a handshake still means something. We handle the paperwork and the logistics of what's coming and going. Sometimes the rain turns the front yard into a mud pit, and we just have to deal with it. It’s hard work and the hours are long, especially during the harvest season when everyone is in a rush. I don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are and they stop by when they need something sorted out. I keep a notebook of who owes what and keep moving forward.
