Our studio is located in Flat No. 408 at C 69 Sarojini Marg. It’s in the C Scheme area of Jaipur, which is a nice part of town to work in. Even though we are in a flat, we’ve turned it into a proper workspace for our textile projects. We have several large tables where we spread out the cloth to look at the patterns and the colors. It’s a bit quieter up on the fourth floor than it is down on the street, which helps when we are trying to focus on new designs. We have some shelves filled with books and fabric samples from over the years. It’s not a corporate office at all; it feels more like a lived-in workshop. We usually have the windows open to catch the breeze, though the Jaipur heat can be a bit much in June. We drink a lot of tea while we work and spend a lot of time discussing different textures and prints. Most of our visitors are people we’ve known for years in the industry. We don’t bother with big presentations or fancy brochures. We just show the work we have and go from there. Jaipur-302001 is a central spot, so it’s easy for us to get to the main markets when we need to buy supplies. It’s a small team here, and we just enjoy the process of working with textiles every day.
