Chitra Handicrafts

We have been operating Chitra Handicrafts out of A-213 Ajmer Road for a while now. It’s a busy street, but we’ve managed to carve out our own little space here. Most days, the workshop is a bit of a mess with shavings on the floor and half-finished projects on the benches. We don’t really mind it though. It’s just how things go when you’re making things by hand. We aren’t some big factory with a thousand machines. It’s mostly just us using the same tools we’ve had for years. Sometimes the paint doesn’t dry as fast as we’d like, or a shipment of wood shows up late. That’s just life in a small shop. We don’t have a fancy front office for meetings. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the back working on something. We like the grit of the work. People from around the neighborhood stop in sometimes just to see what’s new. We don’t do much in the way of advertising. Most folks find us because they saw the sign on Ajmer Road or heard about us from a friend. We just try to get the work done and hope people like what we make. It’s a simple way to spend the day, and we’ve gotten used to the noise of the traffic outside. This is just our place.
