Chip Kare

Chip Kare is located at E-88 in Vaishali Nagar. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s a bit quieter than being right on a main commercial strip. We like it that way because it means we can actually focus on the repairs we do. Most of our day is spent hunched over workbenches with magnifying glasses and soldering irons. We handle a lot of small electronic components, hence the name. The shop is basically one big room filled with shelves of parts we’ve collected over the years. You might think it looks disorganized, but there is a system to it all, I promise. We started here because the rent was fair and there’s a good group of people living in Vaishali Nagar who needed someone to look at their broken gadgets. E-88 isn't a huge building, but it’s enough space for us to have our tools and a small area for customers to wait. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big sales pitch. Usually, people just bring in something that stopped working, and we tell them if we can fix it or if it’s time to buy a new one. Honesty is just easier that way. We spend a lot of time drinking chai and talking about how things aren't built like they used to be. It's a steady life and we're happy to be part of the neighborhood. The door is usually open unless the weather is really bad.
