Chinmaya Kiran Handicraft & Textile Unit

We are located at P 120 on Hawa Mahal Road. It’s a very famous spot because we are right near Jalebi Chowk. Being so close to the Hawa Mahal means there are always crowds of people and lots of noise. Our unit handles both handicrafts and textiles. You will see stacks of fabric and printed cloths all over the place. The colors are everywhere. We spend our days sorting through block prints and embroidery work. It gets very hot in this part of town, especially in the afternoons. The shop is old and the walls have seen a lot of seasons. We have many people coming in, some just looking and some looking for specific cloth for their homes. Jalebi Chowk is always busy with the smell of sweets and the sound of rickshaws. We work in the back mostly, where the sewing and finishing happens. It’s a bit messy with threads on the floor and scraps of fabric. We’ve been at P 120 for years. It’s a small space for how much we try to do inside it. We don't have a big marketing team, we just put our things out and people come in. The tourists walk past all day but our regular customers know exactly where to find the pile of textiles they like. It’s just the daily life of a shop on one of the busiest roads in the city.
