Chhaya Hair Dresser

We've been here at 3/717 in Sector-3 for a good while now. Most people in Malviya Nagar know the spot near the old underpass lane on Pradhan Marg. It’s a small shop, nothing fancy, just a few chairs and mirrors. Every morning starts about the same, unlocking the shutters and getting the towels ready. Jaipur gets pretty hot in the summer, so we keep the fan going all day. Folks stop in for a quick trim or a shave when they have some free time. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded on Sundays when everyone is off work. We don't really do much advertising, mostly just people walking by or neighbors telling their friends about us. It is a quiet street usually, except when the traffic picks up near the lane. The old underpass is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We try to keep the place tidy but it’s a busy hair dresser shop, so there is always a bit of hair on the floor until we sweep up. It’s just how it goes here. We see the same faces every month, which is nice. Most of the guys just want a simple look, nothing too complicated. We listen to the radio or talk about whatever is happening in the city. It’s a decent way to spend the day, working with our hands and seeing the locals who live around Sector-3.
