Chetak Traders & Manufacturers

We’ve been tucked away here on Dhamani Street for more years than I can really count. It’s right off Chaura Rasta, so it stays pretty loud with all the scooters and people walking by all day. Chetak Traders & Manufacturers is basically just us doing what we know how to do. We make some things in the back and trade other things out front. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. Mostly it’s just shelves piled high with stock and some old chairs for when the neighbors stop in to chat. S.M.S. Highway is close enough that we get a lot of noise from the trucks, but we’re used to it by now. The building is old, and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it works for what we need. My cousin handles the accounts, and I spend most of my time dealing with the manufacturing side of things. It’s a lot of manual work and checking orders. We don’t really do fancy advertising. People just know we’re here. Sometimes the rains make the street a mess, and we have to move everything up so it stays dry. It’s just a normal business day for us, nothing flashy. We start early when the air is still a bit cool and stay until the sun goes down over the highway. It’s steady work, and it keeps us busy enough that the weeks just sort of blend together.
