Sapna Handicraft

You will find Sapna Handicraft over at House No. 1099 on Baba Harish Chand Marg. We are tucked away in the Chandpole Bazar area, specifically at the second cross near Vikram Bal Niketan School. It’s one of those parts of town where the streets are narrow and always full of life. Our space is packed with all kinds of handmade items that we’ve gathered or worked on over the months. There is a lot of color and different textures everywhere you look. It is not a fancy boutique by any means. It’s more like a workshop that also happens to show what we have available. Sometimes the smell of raw materials and glue is quite strong, but that is just part of making things by hand. Being near the school means there is always a lot of noise when the kids get out, which adds to the general feeling of the neighborhood. We spend our days sorting through fabrics or checking the finish on different wooden pieces. It’s slow work, and your hands get pretty tired after a few hours of doing fine detail. We’ve been in this house for a long time, so most of the neighbors know who we are. People stop by to see what is new or just to chat while they are walking through the bazar. It gets a bit dusty because of the open doors, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. We just make and show crafts.
