Chandani Hair Cutting

Chandani Hair Cutting is located in Pratap Nagar in Jaipur. It’s a residential area, so we get a lot of families coming in. On Saturday mornings, there is usually a line of young boys getting their hair cut before school starts again on Monday. The shop is small and simple. We have two chairs and a small table where we keep the combs and the spray bottles. There is a mirror that has a small crack in the corner, but it doesn't get in the way. I started this shop because I wanted to work near where I live. The neighbors are all friendly and we often talk about what’s happening in the colony. We don't have air conditioning, just a big window and a fan. Sometimes a stray dog will sit by the door to get away from the heat. We use plain white towels that we wash every night at home. It’s not a place where you’ll find anything modern or trendy. We just do the basic cuts that people like. The floor is a bit uneven, but you get used to it. The shop name is painted in red on the front. Most people in this part of Pratap Nagar know where to find us. It’s a steady life and we are happy with the way things are going. We keep a small radio on the shelf to listen to music while we work. It makes the day go by a little faster.
