Central Cottage Industries Emporium

You can find us on Tonk Road, not far from the old glass factory. Central Cottage Industries Emporium is a pretty big place, and we have a lot of different items spread out across the floor. It’s mostly stuff made by local hands from all over the region. We don’t have a polished showroom feel; it’s more like a large warehouse where you can find almost anything if you look long enough. The staff here has been around for ages. We know where every little thing is kept, even when it looks like a mess to someone walking in for the first time. The glass factory is a good landmark because everyone knows it, and it helps people find us. We get a mix of people coming through—some just looking, some who know exactly what they want. We don’t follow a strict corporate script when we talk to folks. We just chat and help them find what they need. The building gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full blast. It’s a relaxed environment. We are just here to keep the doors open and make sure these handmade goods find a home. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything, but we’ve got a good system that works for us.
