Card & Art is right in the middle of the bustle at Dhamani Market on Chaura Rasta. If you’ve ever walked down Chaura Rasta, you know it’s a place that never really sleeps. There are shoppers everywhere and the smell of old paper and street food in the air. Our shop in Dhamani Market is small and crowded. We have boxes of cards and art supplies stacked up almost to the ceiling. It’s hard to move around sometimes without bumping into something, but we know where everything is kept. The floor is made of old stone and it’s worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We don't have a big fancy display window, just the goods sitting out where people can see them as they walk past. It gets very bright in the mornings when the sun hits the front of the shop. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back, mostly just for background noise. Card & Art has been part of this market for a long time. We know the other vendors and we often watch each other’s stalls when someone needs to grab a quick snack. It’s a busy, cramped, and lively place to be. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors and wait for the regulars to come in. It’s an honest way to spend the day.
