Our place is right near where the railway crossing is, so we hear the trains going by all day and the whole building shakes just a little bit when the heavy ones pass. It is a busy area with a lot of noise. Inside, the space is mostly filled up with different kinds of art pieces and handicraft items we are working on. There are boxes piled up everywhere, some ready to be shipped out and others just waiting to be filled. The floors are usually covered in wood shavings or small scraps of metal depending on what the artisans are busy with that week. It is not a very organized looking place, but we know where everything is kept. We have a few people who have been with us for years, just sitting and working on their specific tasks. The air is often a bit thick with the smell of varnish or polish. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small area with a table where we handle the paperwork and talk to visitors who manage to find their way through the narrow streets of Natraj Nagar. It gets quite hot in the summer months, but we keep the fans going and just keep on with the daily work of packing and moving boxes. The neighborhood is full of small workshops like ours.
