If you look under the SS Bakery on Kings Road in Nirman Nagar, you will find our small shop. It’s tucked away in a corner near the ICICI ATM. Being below a bakery means we often smell the fresh biscuits and bread throughout the day, which isn't a bad thing at all. The space isn't very big, so we have to keep everything organized and in its place. We have some posters on the walls and a few stations set up for hair and skin work. It’s mostly local women from Shyamnagar who stop by when they have some free time from their housework or after picking up kids from school. The stairs coming down can be a bit steep, so people have to watch their step when they enter. Inside, we have some bright lights so we can see what we are doing. It’s a bit of a hideaway from the noise of the main road. We don’t really do any big advertising, people just find us because they live nearby or they’re getting money from the ATM. We use simple towels and the usual creams you find in any salon. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when the bakery upstairs is very busy, but we don't mind the noise. It feels like a little community spot where neighbors can catch up while getting their eyebrows done or a quick hair wash. We keep things simple and practical for everyone.
