I’m over at Shop Number 4 on Dulha House Road. It’s a small place, but it’s mine. I’ve been here for a few years now, and the road has seen a lot of changes. There’s always someone passing by, and the noise from the street is something you just learn to live with. Inside, I’ve got my work area set up towards the back where the light is a bit more consistent. I do a lot of the work myself, though I have a helper who comes in during the afternoons. We make things by hand mostly, so it takes time and there’s usually some scrap material lying around on the floor. I try to sweep up every evening, but it’s a losing battle. The shop isn't fancy. I have a couple of old chairs for anyone who wants to sit and wait. Most of my day is spent hunched over my workbench. I usually have the radio playing in the background, mostly just for the news or some music to keep the silence away. People find me because of the sign out front, which is starting to fade a little from the sun. I should probably get that repainted, but it’s not at the top of my list right now. It’s a simple life, and I like the independence of having my own little shop on this road. It's where I feel most at home during the day.
