Bansi Hair Dresser

If you find yourself over by the Brahmpuri Stand, you might see Bansi Hair Dresser. We are tucked away in Khurra Brahmpuri, right in that 302001 area. It’s an old part of Jaipur, so things feel a bit different here compared to the newer suburbs. The shop itself is pretty basic. I spend most of my day standing on my feet, working the clippers and the comb. Being near the bus stand means there is always noise and people running around outside. We get a lot of guys who are just passing through, but we also have our local regulars who come in every few weeks. They sit down, we talk about the news or the weather, and I get to work. I’ve noticed the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but for now, they are okay. We have some posters on the wall and the usual smell of talcum powder and aftershave in the air. It’s not a quiet place because of the traffic and the horns honking outside, but it feels like home to us. I started doing this a long time ago and I just kept at it. There’s no secret to it, just showing up and doing the work for the people in Brahmpuri. Some days are long, especially when it’s busy, but that’s just life running a shop like this. It’s a simple living and we don't need much else to be happy.
