Arora Handicraft is located at 380A in Raja Park, right in Gali No 2. Raja Park is always crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. Our shop is in one of the side lanes, so it’s a bit narrower but still gets plenty of people walking through. We have all sorts of handcrafted pieces on the shelves. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful how we stack things so nothing breaks. We’ve been here for several years now. My brother and I usually run the place. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to sell the items we have and make enough to keep the shop going. Sometimes we get tourists, but mostly it’s local people looking for a gift or something for their house. The lane can get blocked with bikes and scooters, which is a bit of a headache. We spend our mornings cleaning the dust off the items and rearranging the display. It’s a lot of small tasks that fill up the day. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just show people the work and let them decide. It’s a simple way to earn a living. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break. It’s a busy life but we like being in Raja Park and seeing the regulars.
