Ar. Kuldeep Mittal

I set up my office at 70, Patrakar Parisar in the Mahaveer Nagar area of Kota. It is a pretty quiet spot compared to some other parts of the city. I have been working here as an architect for a while now. The office is a basic room with a large table for my drawings and a few cabinets for all the paperwork. I don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. If someone comes to see me, they usually just pull up a chair by my desk. Kota is a place where people work hard, and I try to do the same. My day is mostly about drawing plans and then heading out to see how the construction is going. I deal with all kinds of projects, from small houses to shop buildings. I don't like to overcomplicate things with big words or fancy promises. I just look at what the person needs and try to draw something that works. There are always a few challenges with every project, but that is part of the job. I have gotten to know many of the local workers and contractors over the years. We have a good rhythm going. It is a small, independent practice and I like it that way. I just take things one day at a time and keep my focus on the drawings in front of me.
