Anushka Handicrafts

Anushka Handicrafts is located at number 31 in the Jai Niwas Garden area, specifically within Janta Market. It’s a typical market setting with lots of other shops squeezed in next to each other. We’ve been in this particular unit for a couple of years. The space is a bit tight, especially when we have a lot of new stock arriving, but we make it work by stacking things high on the shelves. We don't really have a fancy display window. Most of our items are just laid out on tables or hanging from the walls where people can touch them and look closely. The market gets very crowded in the afternoons, so that’s usually our busiest time. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here and we help each other out with change or watching the shop for a minute when one of us needs a break. It’s a lot of work keeping everything clean because of the open air, but we try our best. We don't do any big promotions or anything like that. People just find us while they are doing their regular shopping in Janta Market. We handle everything from the buying to the selling ourselves. It’s just me and one other person most of the time. We stay open until the market starts to wind down in the evening. It’s a busy, noisy, but good place to be for us.
