Operating out of Malviya Nagar in the RIICO Industrial Area keeps us pretty busy most days. Since we are surrounded by so many factories and offices, we get a lot of workers dropping in. Usually, they come because a screen cracked or the battery isn't holding a charge like it used to. It gets dusty around here with all the industrial activity, so we spend a fair amount of time just cleaning the glass counters. We sell basic phones and some smartphones too, along with chargers and those cheap headphones that everyone seems to lose. It’s not a big showroom with air conditioning; it is just a practical shop for people who need their phones fixed fast so they can get back to work. Sometimes the internet is slow when we try to do a software update, and that can be frustrating for us and the customer. We also do recharges and sell SIM cards. The noise from the nearby units is always there in the background. Most of our customers are regulars who work in the nearby sheds. They know us by name and we know which phone models they carry. It’s a straightforward business. We don’t do much advertising because people just find us when they walk past or hear from a colleague. It is just how things work in this industrial belt.
