Anand Hair Saloon Parlour

We are situated in the Jhotwara area of Jaipur, with the pin code 302016. It is a hot part of the city, so the ceiling fans are almost always spinning at top speed in the shop. The saloon is a place where local men come to get away from the sun for a bit and get their hair trimmed. We have a couple of chairs and a long counter with all our bottles and scissors spread out. Jhotwara is a busy place and there is always the sound of motorbikes and rickshaws going past the entrance. Inside, we keep things pretty basic. We have some old magazines for people to look at while they wait, though most people just talk to each other. The floor is usually a bit dusty from the street outside, but we try to keep the hair swept up. We use the standard tools of the trade and don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a regular local parlour where you can get a decent cut for a fair price. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. We know most of the families around here and have seen the kids grow up. It’s a good feeling to be a part of the daily life in Jhotwara. We just keep doing what we know how to do.
