Ajmera Tent Palce

Ajmera Tent Palce is over at Barkat Nagar, house number 32. This isn't really a shop where people walk in and browse. It is more like a big warehouse full of stuff. We have massive piles of folded tents, rolls of colorful fabric, and hundreds of metal poles leaning against the walls. There are also stacks of those heavy plastic chairs and wooden tables everywhere. Most of our work happens outside the shop. We spend a lot of time loading up the tempo trucks with all the equipment needed for a party or a function. It's heavy work and you have to be strong to lift the bundles of carpets. The space smells a bit like old cloth and laundry soap because we try to keep the linens clean. When a big event is coming up, we are busy from early morning until very late at night. We spend a lot of time checking the ropes and making sure the decorative lights still work. Barkat Nagar is a busy area, so getting the trucks in and out of the narrow lane near the house can be a real headache. We have a small office area with a wooden desk where we write down the dates for the bookings. It’s a bit messy with papers and samples of cloth. We don't have a big sign or anything, people just know we are here. It’s just a lot of hard physical labor every single day.
