Aim Competition Classes

Aim Competition Classes is on the third floor of Panji Plaza on Kalwar Road. It’s right above the Syndicate Bank, which is a good landmark if you are looking for us. Jhotwara is always a bit chaotic, so being on the third floor actually helps with the noise from the street. There is an elevator, but it’s often slow, so a lot of us just take the stairs. The rooms are fairly large and we have them set up with rows of benches. It’s not the most modern looking place you’ll ever see, but it serves the purpose. We spend most of the day looking at competitive exam papers and trying to help people get through the syllabus. There are a lot of books piled up everywhere, mostly about general knowledge and maths. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall or anything. We just open the doors in the morning and start the lessons. Sometimes the tea man from downstairs brings up a few cups and we take a short break. The students come from all over this part of Jaipur, hoping to get a government job. It’s a lot of pressure for them, so we try to keep the atmosphere somewhat relaxed. We aren’t trying to be the biggest institute in the city, just a place where people can come and study without too much fuss. It is a long walk up those stairs every morning but it gives me time to wake up properly.
