Agrawal Medical & Provisional Store

Our shop is right there on New Sanganer Road at number 29. It’s a mix of everything really. On one side you have the medicines stacked up in those little wooden cubbies, and on the other, there’s soap, biscuits, and bags of flour. It gets quite hectic because people come in for a prescription and then remember they need milk or a lightbulb. I’ve spent years learning where every single bottle is. If you ask for something, I can usually reach for it without looking too hard. The floor is old tile and it’s seen a lot of feet walking over it. We open early because that’s when people need their morning supplies before work. It’s a narrow shop, so if three people come in at once, it feels full. My family helps out when it gets busy. My son usually handles the provisional side while I look after the medical stuff. There’s a constant sound of scooters zooming past outside. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the big torch to find things. It’s not fancy, just a neighborhood store where people come because they know us. I keep a diary on the counter to jot down things we’ve run out of. It’s a simple life, just minding the store and talking to the regulars who stop by for their daily needs. We don't change much around here, we just keep the shelves filled.
