We've been here at Agarwal Marbles India Pvt. Ltd. on Road No. 9 for quite a while now. Most people know us around the V.K.I. Area. We deal with marble slabs and tiles. It gets pretty dusty out here in the yard but that's just how the stone business goes. We spend most of our mornings checking the new stock that comes in on the trucks. Sometimes the pieces have nice veins and other times they are just plain. We have the sheds at A-118 and B-119-120. It's a large space to keep track of. People come by to look at different colors for their floors or maybe a kitchen counter. We don't really do the fancy sales talk. If you need marble, you just walk in and see what's on the racks. It is a family thing mostly. My cousin handles the accounts and I stay out with the workers. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to move the heavy stuff. Rain makes the stone slippery. We try to keep things organized but with so much inventory it is a bit of a struggle. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years. More shops opened up near us. We just keep doing what we do every day. It's hard work lifting these blocks. You get used to the noise of the cutters. It’s loud but it means we are working. Stop by if you’re near Road 9.
