We are based inside the Treasure Island Mall on M G Road in South Tukoganj. Being in one of the well-known malls in Indore means we are always surrounded by people. It is a very different environment than a street-side shop. There is air conditioning and bright lights and the constant sound of music and shoppers. Our daily life involves managing the kitchen and the counter where we serve drinks and snacks. It’s a fast-paced environment especially on Friday nights and weekends when the mall is packed. We spend a lot of time checking our supplies and making sure the refrigerators are working right. MG Road is a major artery for the city so getting to work involves dealing with a lot of traffic in South Tukoganj. Inside the mall though it’s like its own little world. We have to follow a lot of rules about how things are kept and when we can bring in our stock. It’s not always easy working in such a busy place but it’s never boring. We see all kinds of people coming through the doors. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the orders right. It’s a lot of cleaning and prep work that people don’t see. We just want to get through the rush hours without any major problems. It’s just a regular food business in a big building.
