Shivom Nursery

Located right at the Chitawad Corner in Koshaliyapuri, Shivom Nursery is where we spend all our time. If you’re looking for us, you just look for the place with the most green around it. It’s a bit of a messy job, working with soil and water all day long, so our clothes are usually stained by noon. We don't really have an office in the traditional sense, just a small shed where we keep the tools and some ledgers. The seasons really dictate how our day goes. When it’s planting season, we are out there from dawn until it’s too dark to see. During the hotter months, we spend most of our time just making sure everything stays hydrated. It’s a lot of bending over and carrying heavy pots, which can be hard on the back, but you get used to it after a while. The area around Chitawad Corner has gotten busier lately, with more cars passing by, but inside the gates, it stays pretty calm. We don't do much advertising or anything like that. Most people just see the plants from the road and stop in to see what we have. We keep things pretty simple, focusing on the dirt and the plants rather than fancy paperwork. It’s a good way to spend a day, even if it’s exhausting. We just keep moving, one pot at a time. It isn't easy, but it’s real work.
