Deendayal Totla

Down here in Palda, right behind the Prarthna Tol Kanta, you’ll find our spot. Deendayal Totla is the name on the door, but it’s mostly just a few of us running things day to day. It gets pretty dusty out this way because of all the trucks and the weighbridge nearby. You get used to the noise of the traffic after a while. Our building is at No 323/3, and it’s a simple space without many extras. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the place looks from the outside. Inside, it’s just the usual desks and chairs, and maybe a calendar that hasn't been flipped to the right month yet. It’s how we like it, really. No big meetings or complicated stuff, just the work that needs finishing. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to do, and other days it’s a bit slower. We’ve been at this address for a while and the neighbors all know us. It’s a practical setup for the kind of things we do here. There’s always a kettle going for tea, which helps when the afternoons get long. It’s just a normal business in a normal part of town. We don’t try to be something we aren't. Mostly, we just keep our heads down and stay busy. The street gets a bit dark at night but we’re usually gone by then, heading home to our families after a long shift.
