Balraj Exports

Balraj Exports is tucked away at 29, Kanchan Bagh. It's a quiet enough street most days until the delivery trucks show up. We started this business because we knew a few people who needed stuff sent abroad. It's grown a bit since then, but we still work out of the same small building. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, honestly. We spend most of our time checking boxes and making sure the labels are stuck on right. It's easy to make a mistake when you're tired, so we try to double-check everything. There are four of us working here regularly. We eat lunch together in the small back room. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise when we're loading up late at night. We try to be quick about it. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of dust and heavy lifting involved. My back usually aches by five o'clock. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just find us through people they know. We keep the paperwork in big cardboard folders. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We know the couriers by name. They usually stop for a quick glass of water before heading out. It’s just a regular local spot.
