Shiromani Sarees

Our shop, Shiromani Sarees, is over at 58 Bharat Marg. We are tucked right behind the Kaach Mandir in Naliya Bakhal. If you know this area, you know how busy those narrow lanes can get, especially during the festival times when everyone is out. Kaach Mandir is a big local landmark, so we just tell people to look for that and then walk around the back to find us. The shop itself is packed with sarees from the floor all the way to the ceiling. It isn’t a modern showroom with bright lights and glass displays. It’s an old-school store where we pull down stacks of cloth for people to see and feel. We have been in Naliya Bakhal for a long time, and we know almost everyone on this street. It’s a close-knit community of traders and shopkeepers who look out for each other. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped when there are more than a few people inside, but that’s just part of the charm of an old building. We spend our days folding and unfolding fabric, talking to customers, and drinking plenty of tea. It is a lot of manual work and your back definitely starts to ache by the time we close up. We don’t do any fancy marketing; we just rely on people knowing that we have been here for years. Bharat Marg is always loud with bells and scooters, but we like it.
