PUNJAB DIESEL SERVICE is located at Plot No. 8-A in the Khandelwal Compound at Dewas Naka. This area is pretty much the heart of the transport hub here. You’ll always see big trucks parked everywhere and the smell of diesel and engine oil is pretty much stuck in everything we own. We’ve been in this compound for years. It’s a rough-and-ready kind of place. We have a big open area where we work on the engines, and it usually gets pretty messy with grease and spare parts lying around. The guys who work here have hands that are permanently stained black from the oil, but that’s just how it is in the diesel business. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find us under a hood or sitting on a bench in the shade. Dewas Naka is a loud place with all the engines revving and the horns blowing, but it’s where we belong. We deal with truck drivers and fleet owners mostly. They don’t want a sales pitch; they just want their engines running again. We keep a lot of parts in stock so we can get things done without waiting forever. It’s hard, physical work and the Indore heat can be brutal in the summer, but we keep the fans going and get the jobs finished.
