We have been running Patel Studio at Tory Corner for quite some time now. It is right there at No.31 Mallharganj on MG Road, so it is a busy area. Most days, it is just us managing the cameras and the lights. We do a lot of passport photos because people are always in a rush for those. We also take pictures for weddings and small family functions around the neighborhood. The studio isn't very large, but we have got enough space for a backdrop and some equipment. Sometimes the kids come in and make a mess of the props, but we do not mind too much. It is a family-run thing, really. We learned the trade from our father who used to work with old film cameras. Now everything is digital, which is faster but sometimes I miss the old way things were done. The lighting in the shop can be a bit finicky sometimes, so we spend a lot of time adjusting it. People from the market often stop by just to say hello or ask about their prints. We try to get the photos ready as soon as we can, though sometimes the printer acts up and delays us by a day. It is just how it goes in a small shop like this. We are usually here from morning until the market shuts down at night. Working on MG Road means there is always noise outside, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We just keep clicking.
