P C Mehta & Sons

We are situated at 23 Sanyogita Ganj, which is right on Chawni Main Road. You will see us near the Raj Complex gate. The business has been in the family for a long time, and P C Mehta & Sons is a name that people around here recognize. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack a lot of stuff into the shelves. It’s one of those places where you have to know exactly where things are kept or you’ll never find them. The Chawni area is always buzzing with people and traffic, especially in the afternoons. Sometimes it's hard to even hear yourself talk over the horns outside. We deal with a lot of regular customers who come in to chat as much as they do to buy anything. We don’t have a corporate office or a human resources department. It’s just us and a couple of helpers. We handle the lifting and the counting ourselves. The building is old and has its quirks, like a door that sticks in the rain, but it serves us well. We keep the books by hand mostly, sitting at the old wooden desk in the corner. It is a very traditional way of doing things, but it has worked for us for decades. We don't see any reason to change it now. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and see who the day brings in. It’s just simple, honest trading at the end of the day.
