About Guru Nanak Public School – Education in Indore
Guru Nanak Public School is sitting right on Khandwa Road in Indore. It is a noisy spot because of all the traffic going by, especially in the mornings when the buses are lining up. The building itself is pretty old and has that look of a place that has seen a lot of students come and go over the years. We have a big gate at the front that we keep locked once the first bell rings. Inside the hallways, you can hear the hum of the ceiling fans and the sound of teachers' shoes on the tile floors. On hot days, the dust from the road tends to settle on everything, so we are always wiping down the desks. Most of the people working here live in the nearby colonies, so we all know the local shortcuts. We spend our breaks in a small room with a kettle that takes forever to boil. It is a very ordinary place, not like those fancy new schools you see in the magazines. We just focus on keeping the classes moving and making sure the water coolers stay filled during the summer months. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to open all the windows and hope for a breeze. It is just a part of the daily life here on Khandwa Road. We do not have a big yard, just some gravel space near the back.
