National Public School

If you’ve ever driven down Airport Road or Bijasan Road in Indore, you’ve probably seen us. We are located right in that busy corridor. The sound of planes taking off and landing is something we’ve all gotten used to. It becomes background noise after a while. The school sits on a decent-sized plot of land. The front gate is always manned because of how busy the road is. We have a lot of students who come from the nearby residential colonies. The morning rush is a bit chaotic with all the rickshaws and cars trying to drop kids off at the same time. Inside the gates, it’s a bit more organized. We have several wings in the building and a central area where we do most of our activities. The staff room is always a mess of books and tiffin boxes. We have some trees in the courtyard that provide a little bit of shade, which is nice during the Indore summers. The classrooms are filled with the usual stuff—whiteboards that never quite get clean and rows of benches. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local school in a very busy part of town. The teachers are mostly local people who take the bus or ride their scooters to work. We spend our days managing classes and making sure the kids stay out of trouble during breaks. It's a busy life but we like it here.
