We are located at No. 32/1 Bairathi Colony, and this is where Baansuriwala Designer Bamboo Furniture happens. The workshop is always full of bamboo poles of all different sizes. You can smell the wood and the finish as soon as you step inside the gates. It is a bit crowded in here because bamboo takes up a lot of space. We spend our time cutting, bending, and tying things together. It is a lot of manual labor. Our hands usually have a few small scratches or bits of dust on them. Bairathi Colony is a decent place to be based. We have been here at this address for a bit, and the neighbors are used to the noise of us working. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. Most of the furniture is just sitting around the shop floor in various stages of being finished. Some pieces are nearly done while others are just a pile of sticks waiting to be sorted. It’s a messy process, but that is part of working with natural materials like this. Every piece of bamboo is a little bit different, so we have to adjust as we go. We don't use many big machines, mostly just hand tools and our own strength. It keeps us occupied from morning until the sun goes down. It’s just us here, making things one at a time and trying to keep the dust under control.
