Ashadeep School is located on Road No 2 in Nanda Nagar, which is usually a pretty quiet spot compared to the main roads. We have been here for a good while now, and the building shows its age in a few places. The paint on the gate is peeling a little, but we try to keep the inside tidy for the students. Every morning, the kids arrive with their heavy bags, and you can hear their shoes clicking on the stone floors. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics like desks, chairs, and some charts on the walls about science and history. The rooms stay relatively cool even when the sun is out. Teachers here are mostly local people who walk to work or take a short rickshaw ride. We have a small staff room where we sit and have tea during the break, talking about how the classes are going. It feels more like a community spot than a big institution. There is a tree near the entrance that gives some shade during the afternoon pick-up time. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows wider to let the breeze in. It is just a simple school doing what it can for the families living around Nanda Nagar. We don’t make a big fuss about things, just follow the schedule and make sure the kids learn their chapters. Usually, the afternoon sun hits the front steps just as school ends.
