If you have ever been down near the Salar Jung Museum, you know how crowded those streets get. Our office for Unitedbricks Infrastructures is right in the middle of all that chaos. We are on the second floor of the building at 22-8-73/1/222, which sits above the New Shoe Market. It’s a very old part of Hyderabad, and the energy there is something else. You can hear the market noise all day long from our windows. We handle infrastructure projects, which means we spend a lot of time thinking about roads, drainage, and basic structural stuff that keeps the city running. Being in the 500007 zip code area means we are close to the heart of the old city. The office is often full of samples—different types of bricks, stone, and bits of metal. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. Getting to work involves navigating through narrow lanes and avoiding rickshaws, but it’s home for us. We are an LLP, so it’s a partnership where we all chip in on the daily grind. Some days we are stuck in the office dealing with paperwork for the municipality, and other days we are out at a site till late evening. We don’t have a fancy reception or anyone to greet you with coffee. It’s just a workspace where we get the job done without any fuss.
