Tandur Cement Factory

The Tandur Cement Factory is situated out in the R.R. District, specifically at the CCI Tandur-No. 501 158 location. It is quite a drive from the main city areas, so it feels a bit isolated out here. The factory itself is a massive place with tall structures and plenty of open ground around it. There is always a layer of fine grey dust on everything, which is just what happens when you work with cement all day. The heat from the production side of things can be intense, especially during the summer months. Most of the people working here live nearby or in the quarters provided. It’s a small community in a way. We have a routine that starts early in the morning before the sun gets too high. The sounds of the machinery are constant, a sort of low rumble that you stop noticing after a few weeks. We don’t get many visitors who aren't here for business, given the location. Inside the main office, it’s all very functional with heavy metal desks and plenty of ledgers. We spend a lot of time monitoring the output and making sure the transport trucks are lined up correctly. It’s hard work and the days are long, but there is a sense of accomplishment when you see the loaded trucks heading out toward the district roads to deliver the cement. It can be a bit lonely at night, but we have a good crew on the shifts.
