Mahesh Traders

We’re over at 15-8-43/11 in Feelkhana. It’s funny how many shops are packed into this part of Hyderabad. Mahesh Traders is our little corner of the world. We spend most of our daylight hours here among the stacks of goods. The building isn’t anything special—just brick and mortar that’s been painted over a few times. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the name painted above the door. Most days involve a lot of checking inventory and talking to suppliers. It gets loud with the traffic outside, but you get used to the noise after a few years. We aren’t some big corporation; it’s just us trying to make a living. We have some regulars who come in every Tuesday like clockwork. We keep a pot of water in the corner for anyone who’s thirsty. The shelves are wooden and a bit warped from the humidity, but they hold up. We don’t use computers for everything; sometimes a pen and paper are just faster when you’re in a hurry. It’s a simple business. We buy things, we sell things, and we try to be fair about it. Sometimes the rains make the street a bit muddy, which makes loading difficult, but we manage. It’s just a normal day-to-day grind that we’ve grown to appreciate over the years. There is no point in rushing things. We just take it one customer at a time. It gets hot in the summer, so we keep the door open to get a breeze, even if it brings in some noise.
