Sturdy Engineers

Our workshop is located at Flat No-G1 in Baba Towers, which is down in Bakaram Lane in the Musheerabad area. It’s a bit of a tight spot with the way the buildings are clustered together. We call ourselves Sturdy Engineers, and the name pretty much says what we do. It’s mostly metal work and fixing mechanical parts that have worn out over time. The shop floor is usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings, which is just part of the job when you’re working with lathes and drills all day long. We’ve been in this building for some time, and the neighbors are used to the sound of the machines running. It isn't the kind of place where you’d find people in suits. Most of us are in greasy clothes because you can't really do this kind of engineering work and stay clean. We take on all sorts of small and medium jobs that come through the door from local factories or independent contractors. Sometimes a piece of equipment comes in that’s so old we have to figure out a way to make a new part from scratch. It takes a bit of patience and a lot of careful measuring to get it right. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just show up, do the machining, and try to get things back to the owners quickly so they can stay on schedule.
