Sai Kishan Engineering Industries

Sivalayam Road is usually busy, and our place at 11/185/1 in Fathe Nagar is right in the middle of it. We call ourselves Sai Kishan Engineering Industries, but mostly people just know us as the shop near the temple. We do a lot of metal work here. The morning starts with opening the heavy iron shutters and sweeping out the dust from the day before. We have a few lathes and a milling machine that stay busy most of the day. It’s not a quiet place to work, but we’re used to the noise. Sometimes customers come in with a part that’s snapped in half and ask if we can weld it back together. We do our best. The office is just a small corner with a wooden table and a bunch of old ledgers where we keep track of things. We don't use much technology for the business side of things; we prefer writing it down. The workers here have been doing this for years, so they have a feel for the metal that you can't really teach. We take a lunch break together and usually talk about the news or what's happening in Fathe Nagar. It’s a steady life, and we’re glad to have the work. We just focus on the job at hand and try to get it done right. No big speeches or fancy logos, just plenty of metal work and daily chores.
