Srinivasa Rice Mill

Srinivasa Rice Mill is located at Door No. 1-4 in the Aphvelly area of R.R. District. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here but we’ve got plenty of space for the paddy to sit. The mill itself has been here long enough that the walls have seen better days, but the equipment inside still does the job. We start work pretty early, usually before the sun gets too high, because once the heat hits the metal roof it gets quite warm inside. We’ve got a big open yard where we spread out the grain when it needs some extra drying time. Most of the people working here have been with us for years, so we all know the routine without having to say much. There’s a lot of heavy lifting involved with the gunny bags, and your back definitely feels it by the end of the week. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team, just a phone that rings and people who drop by to see how the processing is coming along. Sometimes the rain catches us off guard and we have to hurry to cover everything up with plastic sheets. It’s just the usual life of a rice mill in this part of the country. We keep the machines greased and the floors swept as best we can, focusing on the bags stacked up in the warehouse waiting for transport.
