Sri Venkateswara Enterprises

You can find Sri Venkateswara Enterprises at 1 4 64/36 in Venkateshwara Colony, here in Hyderabad. It’s a bit funny that the business has the same name as the colony, but it makes it easier for people to remember where we are. Our building is a standard setup with a lot of storage space for the different goods we handle. We’ve been in this part of Andhra Pradesh, now Telangana, for quite a while. The shelves are usually stacked pretty high with boxes, and there isn't much room to walk around when a new shipment arrives. We deal with a lot of different supplies, so the inventory list is always getting longer and more confusing. I spend most of my afternoon going through the books and making sure we didn't miss any orders from the morning. The ceiling fan in the main room wobbles a little bit, but it keeps the air moving while we work. We don't really do any advertising. Most of our business comes from the folks who live nearby or other small owners in the colony who have known us for years. It’s a very local operation. We open up early, sweep the front step, and stay until the last delivery is sorted out. There’s no big corporate strategy here. We just try to keep the items in stock so that when someone comes looking for something specific, we actually have it sitting on the shelf ready for them to take home.
