Sri Sai Elevator Engineers

Our shop, Sri Sai Elevator Engineers, is at Shop No. 32 B, which is right near the bus stop in Amberpet. This is in the Dilsukhnagar area, so it is always loud with the sound of buses and people walking by. Being near the bus stop means everyone sees us, but we are usually too busy with parts and tools to notice much of the outside world. The shop is small and filled with elevator parts like cables, buttons, and sensors. There is always a smell of machine oil in the air. Most of our work is actually done out at different buildings where we go to fix lifts or check on them. But the shop is our base where we keep our tools and where customers can find us if they have a problem. We aren't dressed in suits; we wear clothes that can get dirty because elevators are greasy machines. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook when a lift breaks down somewhere nearby. We try to get to everyone as fast as we can. It’s a lot of running around and manual work. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small counter and some shelves full of heavy metal components. It’s a basic operation but we have been doing it long enough to know the machinery inside and out. It’s honest, hard work and it keeps us on our toes.
