You can find Shree Meenakshi Industries on the first floor of a building in Hemavathi Nagar, at 8/4/368/42. Being on the first floor means we are constantly carrying stuff up and down the staircase, which is a good workout if nothing else. We do various types of industrial work here, and the space is filled with the smell of oil and metal. It is not a very big area, so we have to be smart about where we put the machines and the raw materials so we still have room to walk around. Hemavathi Nagar is a busy area, and there is always a lot of noise coming from the street below, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We start our day by checking the machines and making sure everything is oiled up and ready to go. The light in the workshop is okay during the day because of the big windows, but it gets a bit dim in the corners. We are just a small group of people working together, and we don't really have a boss who sits in a separate office. We are all on the floor getting our hands dirty most of the time. When the weather gets hot, we open all the windows to get a breeze through, though that brings in some of the road noise too. It is a simple setup, and we focus on finishing the batches we have for the week. Usually, we finish up around six and lock up the shutters for the night. We have been doing this for years and know all the regulars who drop by.
