Sri Pawan Dall Mill

Our mill is located at 12-2-876/4 in Asif Nagar. It’s a busy part of town, and we’ve been here for a good number of years. When the machines are running, you can hear them from the street. We process different kinds of pulses and lentils. It gets very dusty inside, so we are always cleaning up. The raw grain comes in bags, and we have to sort and mill it before it’s ready for the shops. It’s a simple process, but you have to pay attention to the quality of the grain. If the moisture is too high, it doesn't mill right. We have a few guys who have been working with us since the beginning. We don’t really do any big advertising; people in the neighborhood just know our name. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait around, which can be frustrating, but that’s life here. We keep our records in a big ledger on the main desk. It’s not a high-tech operation, just some solid machines and people who know how to run them. We sell to the local vendors and sometimes directly to families who want a larger bag. It’s steady work, and we take pride in the fact that the food we process ends up on local dinner tables every evening. We stay until the last bag is loaded onto the cart.
