If you ever find yourself in Saidabad, you might pass by 17-2-442. That’s Shashi Nilyam, and it’s where we run Sl Food & Allied Products. Kurmaguda is a crowded neighborhood, so finding parking for the delivery vans is always a bit of a headache. We’ve been operating out of this building for some time. It’s more of a home that turned into a workspace over the years. You can still see where the old living room used to be before we moved the stainless steel tables in. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anyone sitting at a front desk. Most of the time, we’re all in the back working on the latest batch of food. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it gets the job done. We like the energy of Kurmaguda. There’s always someone shouting down the street or a motorbike zooming past. We try to keep things organized, but when we have a big order, the boxes start piling up almost to the ceiling. It’s just a regular bunch of folks working here. We don’t put on any airs. We just want to get the products made and shipped out so we can go home to our families at the end of the day. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn until dusk every single day.
