Siri Tanjore Art Galary

Our little gallery is located in Karmi, Hyderabad. It’s not a huge museum or anything like that, just a space where we keep and show Tanjore paintings. The place smells a bit like paint and wood most of the time. We have pieces leaning against walls and others hanging up wherever there’s a bit of room. It’s a very traditional kind of art, using gold foil and stones, so there’s a lot of detail to look at. We aren't art critics or big-time dealers. We just really like these paintings and want to show them to whoever stops by. The lighting isn't perfect, and the floors might creak a bit, but it has a nice feel to it. People often come in just to look or to ask how the paintings are made. We explain the process as best as we can without making it sound too complicated. It takes a long time to finish just one piece, so the shop doesn't change much from week to week. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us here in the gallery, dusting the frames and talking to visitors. If you’re looking for something specific or just want to see some local art, we’re around. It’s a quiet life, surrounded by these bright, gold-leafed images of gods and stories from a long time ago.
