If you find yourself near the Reddy Hostel Complex on Tilak Road, you’ll probably see our sign. We are at 4-1-882/1/5, right in the thick of things. The area is always moving, with students and shoppers walking past the windows all day long. Inside Mittals Gallery, things are a bit more still. We have a lot of items packed into the space. Sometimes it feels like we are playing a game of Tetris trying to fit everything on the shelves. I spend a lot of time dusting things off and moving them around to see what looks good where. It isn’t some high-end, untouchable place. It’s a shop where we actually work and talk to people. Some days are slow and I just sit behind the counter watching the traffic go by on Tilak Road. Other days, we have several people in at once asking about different pieces. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us here, keeping the place running and making sure the door stays open. If the lights are on, we are usually busy fixing a display or checking the inventory. The air conditioning sometimes struggles with the heat outside, but we manage. People come in looking for something specific, and half the time they end up just chatting about the neighborhood. It is a simple life here at the gallery, just handling one customer at a time. I hope the traffic isn't too bad when you come visit.
